Runes

The runes are a system of magick and divination from the Teutonic Tribes, and is primarily associated with Norse traditions. Runes can be used for divination and for creating change through talismans and amulets.

Reversed - health, responsibility, temperance

Algiz is the elk. Elks, like most horned creatures, have a powerful sense of instinct and perception, often from picking up vibration and energy from the horns, like spiritual antenna. The elk is a symbol of trusting your instinct, good fortune, friendship, and protection. Reversed, it is vulnerability from not following instincts, or sacrifice for a greater good.

Reversed - lies, deception, lack of clear communication

Os is not only the mouth, but the words spoken from the mouth, including advice and wisdom given by another. Reversed, it is the poison of the mouth, lies deception, or simply lack of clear communication.

Reversed - familiy problems, creative blocks

Beorc is both literal and symbolic. It can mean family issues and new things in the family, such as children, but most often means symbolic birth and creation in your home and life. Reversed, Beorc indicates family problems or creative blocks.

To these pagan people, cattle is the symbol of wealth. Through it you have food, materials, and something to trade. When Fehu is chosen, it symbolises prosperity, succedd and fulfillment of your needs. Reversed, Fehu is a loss of prosperity or status. Fehu can accompany delays and frustrations to your needs and desires.

Isa means ice, or frozen water. Ice is an archetypal creative force in Norse myth. Here it indicates a situation being frozen or stuck, or filled with coldness. While water can be clear, ice is usually opaque, and , reflecting sunlight, can blind. But like ice, this energy will eventually melt and flow bringing change. This rune has no reverse meaning.

Jera is the harvest, the reward of a season of hard work and planning. Symbolically it is what you deserve based on your efforts, and some would equate it with justice or karma. Since it it about reaping what you have sown, there is no reversed meaning, but it could be considered good or bad, depending on your actions.

Kenaz is the blessing of fire, quite a powerful force in any culture, but doubly so for a tribe so far north. It brings the blessings of energy, power and general good fortunes. Reversed, Kenaz indicates an ending, loss, unwanted change or time of darkness.
